I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (#S10026) granted by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. I am also a National Certified Counselor (#310456) granted by the National Board for Certified Counselors. ASH Counseling, PLLC has met requirements of the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and is duly certified to render counseling services as a professional counseling corporation within the state of North Carolina (#PC15056).
I received My Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Saginaw Valley State University (MI), in 2005. And received my Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University, in 2012.
My Experience
ASH Counseling, PLLC provides over 14 years of experience in the mental health field, within both public and private settings. I have provided counseling and therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults within in-home services, outpatient agencies, and private practice settings. I have led DBT skills groups for adolescents. I specialize in treating persons 13 and up struggling with mood disorders, relationship issues, family conflict, separation, divorce, life transitions, parenting concerns, body image, and grief/loss.

What should I bring to my first appointment?
A:
Yourself (and a support person – if that makes you feel more comfortable). Minor persons MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
If ASH Counseling, PLLC is in network with your insurance, and you’d like to use it, please bring your most updated insurance card.
You do not need to complete paperwork prior to your appointment. You will be given time to read through, discuss/ask questions, and sign all necessary documents with me before we get started.

Will my sessions be confidential?

ASH Counseling, PLLC firmly believes in the strength of a positive, trusting therapeutic relationship, and is dedicated to providing a relaxed, non-judgmental environment for you to explore important issues in.
Information shared throughout counseling cannot be disclosed without client, and/or parent/legal guardian’s written permission. However, laws and exceptions exist to protect the safety of clients and others, in addition to protecting the relationship between clients and their therapists. These exceptions include:
If I feel you are a danger to yourself, or someone else.
If there is suspected abuse of a child or an elderly person.
If you give me written permission to disclose information.
If information is court ordered.
